Over the past week, I have dedicated significant time and effort to designing my display board for the upcoming gallery walk. My primary focus has been on making the board visually appealing to attract interest and encourage people to engage with me about my research. Through this process, I have gained valuable insight into the importance of presentation and aesthetics, an essential skill for many business-related careers. As I move forward, I plan to continue refining my board by incorporating additional elements, such as information about my mentor and my final product and make it visually appealing such as adding the elements of cupcakes for my marketing plan on Small Cakes. These updates will ensure that my display remains relevant for future ISM events and accurately represents the progress of my work.
Effectively communicating my research and ideas is just as important as presenting them visually, so I aim to practice and refine my presentation skills to confidently discuss my findings. Moreover, working on my display has reminded me of the importance of continuing to connect with professionals in my field and making progress on my final product. Although the final product is not due for quite some time, I want to begin working on it now to ensure I have ample time to refine and perfect it. Starting early will also allow me to create a strong, direct connection between my original work and my final product, ensuring that my digital portfolio is well-organized, cohesive, and compelling for viewers.
Overall, this experience has reinforced the significance of both visual and verbal presentation, time management, and strategic planning all of which will be crucial as I continue my ISM journey.
